Terri Rebmann is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Biosecurity in the Saint Louis University School of Public Health. She is a PhD Nurse researcher with an emphasis in infectious disease emergency preparedness and healthcare epidemiology. In addition, she is board certified in Infection Control and Epidemiology.Her past work experience includes research and clinical practice with HIV/AIDS patients and hospital infection prevention and epidemiology. She has extensive experience in hospital infection control, public health outbreak investigation, and healthcare associated infection prevention. In her current position with the Institute for Biosecurity, she is a faculty member involved with the Masters and PhD Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness programs, including curriculum development and teaching. Her research areas of focus include healthcare and public health professional disaster preparedness and surge capacity issues. She is a member and past Chair of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Emergency Preparedness Committee. In 2002, Terri joined a task force at Saint Louis University that went to Israel to study disaster preparedness from the Hadassah Medical System. She is also a weapons of mass destruction exercise observer/controller for the Texas Engineering Extension Service, a branch of NEERTC, the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center. She publishes and lectures on bioterrorism, pandemic planning, emerging infectious diseases, and infection prevention practices on a national basis. |
